THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE HUNGARIAN BIOTECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION ELECTS ITS NEW BOARD
On May 20, 2026, the Hungarian Biotechnology Association (HBA), which has gained new momentum over the past year, held its annual General Assembly at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences in Budapest. A total of 68 members of the professional and advocacy organization were represented at the meeting.
During the General Assembly, the previous board and management presented a report on the renewal of the Association, as well as recent developments and future trends in global and Hungarian biotechnology. Following this, the members elected the Association’s new leadership for a three-year term.
The members re-elected Ernő Duda, founder and CEO of Medipredict Ltd., as President of the Association. The following individuals were also re-elected as board members: András Dinnyés,DVM, PhD, founder of BioTalentum Ltd.; László Ürge, PhD board member of DBH Investment Ltd.; and Arnold Fehér, MD, founder of Convincive Consulting. Newly elected board members include Dániel Veres, MD, PhD , co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Turbine Ltd., and Bertalan Jászkuti, health economist at Syreon Research Institute.
In presenting their programs, the candidates emphasized opportunities to strengthen biotechnology research and development and its industrial application in Hungary, with particular focus on international collaborations, the development of the innovation ecosystem, and the expansion of industry partnerships.
The board’s objectives continue to include strengthening the Association’s role in professional advocacy, as well as increasing the international visibility of the Hungarian biotechnology sector.
