The company was established by the University of Debrecen as a service-oriented spin-off company to commercialize its own know-how and expertise in a profit-oriented way, targeting mainly the competitive business sector.
UD-GenoMed’s portfolio -besides R&D activities- includes a wide range of laboratory services from next-generation sequencing to cell line development and product distribution.
It is an ISO 9001:2015 certified entity, operating in compliance with GLP and ISO 13485.
Services of UD-GenoMed Ltd. include:
• Clinical genomic services: from experimental design, patient recruitment andsample collection to the processing and storing of patient samples (biobanking);
• Functional genomics, epigenetics, and epigenomics services: from Illumina Next-generation Sequencing (RNA, small RNA and Chip sequencing, targeted- and de novo sequencing) to traditional Real-Time qPCR and capillary sequencing);
• Bioinformatics: Based on customer needs, including gene expression (RNA and small RNA) biostatistical data analysis, NGS primary and more detailed data analysis, pipeline development for NGS complex analysis, genotyping data interpretation, statistical algorithm development for biomarker identification;
• Proteomics: from protein identification and molar mass determination to multiplex analysis and data evaluation;
• Cell line development which includes: the establishment of KO and KI cell lines, the genetic engineering with multiple transgenes, and the recombinant protein engineering and production accompanied by the purification and quality control of the end product as well;
• Antibody-related services: production of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, peptide synthesis, antibody purification, marking, characterization, and validation, sequencing of the variable region, and other related services;
• Assay development for biomarker detection and screening services;
• Participation in clinical trial-related central lab activities;
