Founded
in 1959, the Institute of the Hungarian Academy
of Sciences began to produce radioactive isotopes
in 1964. It then became a major Hungarien centre
for the research, development and production of
radioisotopes. With effect from 1993 a part of the
former Institute has been operating as the Institute
of Isotopes Co., Ltd.

Our
company's main activities comprise radioisotope
techniques relating to handling and formulation
of all types of radioisotopes produced in nuclear
reactors. Application of radionuclides takes place
mostly in medical practice and life sciences.
Within this activity we can offer a wide range of
immunoassay kits e.g. RIA and IRMA kits mainly to
hospitals. The broad range - RIA / IRMA, EIA / ELISA
- of immunoassay products can be categorised according
to the separation method used, such as magnetic
immunosorbent (MIS), coated tube (CT) and micro-titre
plate, as well as non-solid phase assays. The group
of tumor markers consists of assays for 5 different
analytes. Thyroid assays represent the largest part
of our immunoassay palette. Our company offers a
great number of well-established endocrinological
assays for measuring analytes such as SHBG, C-peptide,
LH and PRL. We continuously developing the ELISA
formats of our RIA / IRMA assays. Immunoassay kits
for research purposes are represented by a comprehensive
range of prostanoid RIAs.
The radiopharmaceutical production provides wide
range of products for diagnosis and therapy using
the isotopes: 131I, 125I, 201Tl, 153Sm, 90Y. Our
packaging ensures maximal radiation protection and
optimal conditions for use. We produce and sell
radiochemicals for labelling purposes and raw materials
for radiopharmaceuticals of other producers or end-users
made of isotopes 125I, 32P, 35S
Cold kits labelled with 99mTc radionuclide completely
meet the clinical requirement for the study of renal
- DMSA, DTPA, EC - for bone-scintigraphy and palliative
treatment of painful bone metastases - MULTIBONE,
MDP - for examination of the liver- and hepatobiliary
system - FYTON, TECHIDA - for bloodpool-scintigraphy
PYRON, GLUKON.
A very important line of products are the nucleotides
labelled with 32P, 33P, 35S.
Above the 14C or 3H labelled organic compounds the
custom synthesis of labelled with 14C and 3H radioisotopes
as a service is offered for pharmaceutical companies
and research labs.
Within the scope of our industrial activity we can
offer 192Ir and 60Co radiation sources.
Design and production of radiation technology equipment
and complete facilities - including auxiliary systems
- are also carried out at IZOTOP.
