Avicor Ltd.
Avicor Ltd developed a chemical microarray technology that is used for fast
identification of potential drug targets and drug candidates. The company
is able to provide 10-100 interacting molecules against theoretically any
protein target within hours.
Avicor Ltd fills the gap between chemistry and genomics by using chemical
microarrays. Avicor has developed a proprietary surface chemistry, which
enables us to print small molecules in high density onto microscope slides.
These chemical microarrays can screen 10-100 thousand of molecules for
protein-drug interactions based on affinity binding without pre-established
screens. Avicor is a service company, it offers solutions for the early
phase of drug discovery by using its technology to identify hit molecules
from any compound library.
The company can produce chemical microarrays from its own chemical library,
or the company can prepare custom microarrays from any compound library of
interest.
Chemical microarrays with small compounds have proven to be robust and
scalable for the discovery of drug/protein interactions. One limitation of
the technology has been the need for the incorporation of a tag or linker
in the molecules. Avicor has circumvented this need through the combination
of several different types of chemistry to attach small molecules
covalently onto glass microscope slides.
Avicor provides contract research and services for the biotechnological and
pharmaceutical industry by using its proprietary solid surfaces for
chemical attachment and a know-how for protein-ligand, proteome-ligand
library interaction pattern identification.
